At East Lake, we're excited to introduce our Generosity Calendar—a year-long invitation to live out generosity in practical, impactful ways that bless our community and reflect God's heart for those He died for. Each month highlights a unique focus, encouraging every individual and family to participate generously through acts of service, financial support, time, resources, or kindness tailored to that theme. Whether it's paying it forward to strengthen marriages and families, supporting local outreach, or meeting needs around us, this calendar guides us to be intentional givers who make a tangible difference—one month, one generous act at a time. Join us as we grow together in cheerful, sacrificial generosity that points others to Christ!

april: Shower Your community with Blessings
As East Lake Church family, we are called to be a blessing to the people around us—just as God has blessed us. This week let’s intentionally pour out His love using our time, talents, and resources right here in our neighborhoods and city.
You don’t have to do something huge to make a real difference. Here are practical ways you can serve our community and neighbors well:
- Time: Visit a shut-in neighbor, offer to mow a lawn, babysit for a single parent, or volunteer one evening at a local food pantry or school.
- Talents: Use your skills—whether it’s fixing things, cooking, teaching, graphic design, music, or carpentry—to bless someone who needs exactly what you’re good at.
- Monetary Resources: Support local ministries, help a family with an unexpected bill, buy groceries for a neighbor, or contribute to community projects that meet real needs.
Let’s make East Lake known as the church that loves its community extravagantly. Look for opportunities this week to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Pray for eyes to see the needs around you and a willing heart to meet them.
Who will you bless today?

March: Chosen Family
At the heart of the gospel is an invitation into family—not one defined by bloodlines or marital status, but by love, belonging, and shared life in Christ. Jesus consistently redefined family around those who show up, love well, and follow Him together.
Chosen Family invites us to move beyond assumptions and toward shared life: opening our tables, showing up in seasons of joy and grief, supporting one another through parenting, singleness, transitions, and calling. It’s about ensuring no one walks alone simply because their family story looks different.
Psalm 68:5-6 GOD’S WORD Translation5 The God who is in his holy dwelling place
is the father of the fatherless and the defender of widows.
6 God places lonely people in families.
He leads prisoners out of prison into productive lives,
but rebellious people must live in an unproductive land. -
February: Marriage Pay it forward
February at East Lake is designated as Marriage "Pay It Forward" Month—a special season to celebrate marriage while intentionally blessing and strengthening other couples in our church family. We invite you to join the movement by paying it forward in meaningful ways: gift a night of free childcare to a young couple so they can enjoy a date night, surprise another couple with a marriage retreat registration, or sign up for a retreat yourselves to invest in your own relationship. Explore the staff-recommended marriage studies available right now on RightNow Media, and commit to creating intentional, distraction-free time with your spouse to nurture your connection. Together, let's build stronger marriages that reflect God's love—one generous act at a time!
